Compulsory
Savings
Members of a
group are required to save Rs. 5 per week ($.12) in a group
savings fund. This is compulsory and the has to be paid as
long as the member wishes to be part of SKS.

Voluntary
Savings
Since
the income generating and seasonal loans yield profits, we
encourage members to save in individual, non-interest bearing
savings accounts, from which they can withdraw funds as
needed. The main idea behind individual savings is to provide
a channel for villagers to keep their resources secure until
required. Individual savings accounts are primarily used to
meet future repayment of loans, thereby instilling a sense of
discipline among SKS members.
