Vikram Akula
Founder & CEO
Previously a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, Vikram has over a decade of work and research experience in microfinance. He was a Fulbright Scholar in India, during which he coordinated an action-research project on providing micro-credit for food security. He was also researcher with the Worldwatch Institute, where he wrote articles focused on poverty and development. He has also worked as a community organizer with the Deccan Development Society in India.
He holds a B.A. from Tufts, an M.A. from Yale, and has a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on the impact of microfinance. He has received several awards for his work with SKS, including the Echoing Green Public Service Entrepreneur Fellowship. |

Swarnalatha Jagarlapudi
Vice President, Human Resources and Administration
Swarnalatha has over 16 years of experience as an HR professional.
Before joining SKS, she was a Senior Consultant with High People
Consultancy, Pune. In this role, her primary responsibilities were to
execute all human resource functions, specifically performance
management system, compensation and benefits administration, employee
counselling and career path and succession planning. Prior to High
People Consultancy, she worked with Navionics Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and
Navionics Engineering Pvt. Ltd. She has completed a triple Masters,
submitted her Ph.D thesis at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and
desires to be an eternal student and learner. She has received awards
for various articles she has written, including �Managerial Challenges
in Promoting Economic Cooperation in Seven South Asian Nations � SAARC�,
presented at the observance of SAARC Charter Day, 2000 and �Women
Policing in India � Constraints and need of paradigm shift�, presented
at the 2003 International Seminar � RC21, at the University of Milan,
Italy. |

Jennifer Leonard
Assistant VP, Finance
Previously an Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch, Jennifer has
over 7 years experience in the financial services industry. At Merrill
Lynch, Jennifer did equity research in the dynamic wireline telecom
services sector, covering companies like Verizon, SBC, BellSouth, AT&T,
and Sprint. Jennifer also became a CFA charterholder during her time at
Merrill Lynch. Previously, she worked for Caisse des D�p�ts et
Consignations, a large French financial institution, in their US
investment management division.
Recently, Jennifer left Wall Street to pursue a six-month volunteer
opportunity at Veerayatan Vidyapeeth, a school for economically
disadvantaged children in the rural region of Kutch in Gujarat, India.
Jennifer graduated magna cum-laude from Boston University with a BA in
Economics and earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and an MA
in International Studies with a concentration in Western Europe and
French from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. |

Kalyanachakrawarthy
Chief Accountant
Kalyan is currently Chief Accountant for SKS, where he has been since
2001. His primary responsibilities include consolidation and
finalization of accounts, taxation, audit, treasury management, funds
logistics and documentation. He also assists the finance department with
generation of salaries and incentives, administration, and human
resource activities. Prior to SKS, Kalyan worked in electronic data
processing for Dabur India Limited, in charge of debt collection and
monitoring credit polices for the 1000 crore pharmaceuticals company.
Kalyan has BC from Nagarjuna University, Noble College, Machilipatnam
and is currently pursuing a Masters in Financial Management from
Pondichery University and a Masters in Business Administration,
specialization Finance from IGNOU. |

Kiran Kumar
Manager � Andhra Pradesh, Sales & Marketing
Kiran has over five years experience in the microfinance
field. He is currently in charge of SKS� Andhra Pradesh sales and
marketing team, responsible for all current operations and expansion
plans within the state. Prior to SKS, Kiran worked with Naandi
Foundation, Hyderabad as a state level coordinator for their livelihood
division, where he was in charge of capacity building of Mutually Aided
Co-operative Societies (MACS) for lift irrigation facilities. Prior to
Naandi, Kiran worked as a consultant for the National Institute of Small
Industries Extension and Training, providing entrepreneurial training
for self help groups. Kiran also spent two years with BASIX, a leading
microfinance organization based in Hyderabad, as a field executive in
charge of one crore rupees portfolio. Kiran received his MBA in
Marketing from Pragathi Mahavidyalaya, Koti, Osmania University,
Hyderabad and a B. Com from Kakatiya University. |

Lokesh Kumar Singh
Manager, Sales & Marketing
Lokesh has been with SKS Microfinance since December 2004. He is currently
responsible for all operations in the state of Maharashtra and overseeing
expansion plans throughout the country. Prior to joining SKS he was
working with Naandi Foundation, Hyderabad as Program Officer in Potable
Water project where he was instrumental in selecting the areas for
intervention and setting up the system for water purification and
distribution in the villages in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh is a Rural
Management Graduate from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). As
part of this course he has been involved in different projects ranging
from �Watershed Development� to Research Paper on �Wastewater Agriculture
in India�. He also holds B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from H.B.T.I.,
Kanpur. |

V.Chidambar Rao
Advisor, Insurance
Chidambar is currently an Advisor, New Business heading SKS� Microinsurance
division. The Microinsuarance division focuses on covering all of SKS�
clients and their families against risks such as death, illness, livestock
causalities, etc. Prior to SKS, Chidambar worked in sales and marketing at
Explofab Metals and Bharat Shell. Prior to that, Chidambar spent 14 years as
Head of Sales and Marketing for Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores, a leading
mining firm based in Karnataka. Chidambar was in charge of domestic and
international clients in addition to working with various government
departments like Mines & Geology, Forest & Environment and Indian Bureau of
Mines. Chidambar has a B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering with distinction
from Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal Mysore University. He
has also completed one year management training from A.F.Ferguson
consultants, a leading management consulting firm in India, on similar lines
as a MBA program. |

Shashi Kumar
Manager, Technology
Shashi has over seven years experience in technology development and
deployment. Previously he worked with ICSS Infotech LTD as a faculty member.
For the last five years he has led SKS�s technology team and is responsible
for corporate wide software development and deployment at the head office as
well as all 45 branches. Shashi is a commerce graduate and has completed his
PG diploma in computer applications. |

G.Ramakrishnan
Manager, Internal Audit
G.Ramakrishnan is currently Manager, Internal Audit for SKS Microfinance. He
has three years experience as the division leader in the Hyderabad office.
Previously, he was with the undertaking unit of M/s. V. Nagarajan & Co.,
Chartered Accountants, New Delhi focusing on auditing activities at the
field and head office levels of various microfinance institutions. He holds
a degree in Commerce from Osmania University and is currently pursuing a
company secretary course at The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
He is also pursuing a Post graduate diploma in Information System Audit from
The ICFAI University. |

Byomkesh Mishra
Manager � Team Lead, Business Development
Byomkesh is currently Manager of Business Development responsible for
identifying, designing and implementing new business development
opportunities which include new product development, new segment targeting,
sector diversification, alternative channels and strategic alliances.
Previously, he was an Area Manager (Sales and Marketing) in charge of
microfinance operations in two districts of Andhra Pradesh. Before joining
SKS, Byomkesh worked as a volunteer with MVSN, an NGO in Uttar Pradesh,
where he was focused on formation of SHGs and facilitating bank linkages
under SGSY Programme GoI. Byomkesh has conducted various studies on poverty
alleviation and livelihood development. He has a BS in Maths and Statistics
from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and an MBA in Rural Management
from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). |

Christopher Turillo
Manager, Communications
Chris was previously Director of Business Development at Business
Development Institute (BDI), an event-based marketing firm in New York. In
this role, his primary responsibilities were to execute BDI and client
driven projects, develop new business opportunities and manage the firm�s
information technology. Before BDI, he worked with the regional sales team
at Rational Software in Redmond, WA. During his undergraduate studies, he
interned with KPMG International, International Data Corporation and the
Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He recently volunteered to help organize a
global Microentrepreneur contest with the UNDP in support of the UN�s Year
of Microcredit. He worked with 40 graduate students to design the contest�s
format, develop sponsorship materials and liaison with local microfinance
organizations and international diplomats. Chris received his BA in
International Political Economy from the University of Puget Sound and spent
his junior year on the Pacific Rim Asian Studies Travel Program (PRAST),
studying and living in nine Pacific-Rim countries. |
