Vikram Akula,
Founder and Chair, SKS:
Vikram
Akula is a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
Prior to joining McKinsey, he
founded and served for six years as the CEO
of SKS, the parent organization of SKS Microfinance. Vikram
has over a decade of
work and research experience in microfinance. He was
a Fulbright Scholar in India and before that he was a
researcher with the
Worldwatch Institute, a Washington D.C. policy institute. He also worked as a community
organizer with the Deccan Development Society in India. He holds a B.A.
from Tufts, an M.A. from Yale, and a Ph.D. from the University of
Chicago. He has received several awards for his work with SKS, including
the Echoing Green Public Service Entrepreneur
Fellowship.
Gautam
Ivatury, Microfinance Analyst, CGAP:
Gautam manages the Microfinance Technology Program (MTP)
at CGAP and works on issues related to investment in
microfinance, linkages between MFIs and commercial banks, and
several of CGAP's initiatives in India. He recently co-authored CGAP Focus Note 25, entitled "Foreign Investment in Microfinance: Debt and Equity from Quasi-Commercial Investors." He was most recently Vice President of Finance and
Administration at SKS Microfinance. Gautam helped in raising nearly US$ 6 million
for SKS, and contributed to the organization's growth from serving about 8,000 to over 20,000 clients. Prior to SKS,
he was an Investment Analyst at the International Finance Corporation, co-founded a startup education technology venture, and worked as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (now Credit Suisse First Boston). He holds an M.A. and a B.A. in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins
University.
Ashish Lakhanpal,
Managing Director, TMSV, LLC.
Ashish is a graduate of Harvard Business School and is currently the Managing Partner of Think Investments. He is also Secretary on the SKS Foundation Board of Directors.
Geoff Davis,
President, Unitus, Inc.
Geoff has worked with
microfinance programs worldwide. He was instrumental in
establishing Grameen Foundation USA, a global leader in
microfinance, and has spoken extensively on microcredit,
including lectures and speeches at the International Monetary
Fund, at Harvard University and on National Public Radio.
Geoff has served as director of International Business
Development for a California biomedical firm, and was the
founder and president of a translation company. Geoff holds a
bachelor's degree in international relations from Brigham
Young University and a master's degree in public policy from
Harvard University.
Sitaram
Rao,
CEO, SKS:
Sitaram Rao is a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent) and Cost Accountant who has held Chief Executive and senior advisory positions with several finance and international marketing companies including the DCL Group (India), Muscat Finance Company (Sultanate of Oman), Laila Group (India), and Paradigm Infotech (USA). He has also served as a visiting faculty member at Management Development Institute (Delhi), Industrial Finance Corporation of India, Computer Maintenance Corporation, and the State Bank of India.
He holds degrees in both Commerce and Law from Bombay University.
N Krishna Prasad,
Deputy General Manager, SIDBI:
N Krishna Prasad is working with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) since 1995, and has head the Tripur branch of SIDBI in the past, he vast experience in Foreign Exchange and has been working as an expert for foreign exchange business at SIDBI.
He has worked at Allahabad Bank for fifteen years prior to joining SIDBI
and he is a science graduate and CAIIB.
