SKS Microfinance Distributes Rice in Waterlogged Areas in AP

Rice was distributed to SKS members in Hyderabad and Adilabad Hyderabad, August 14, 2008: SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd., India's largest microfinance and the fastest growing microfinance in the world, distributed rice to its members whose houses have been destroyed due to the heavy rains over the past few days. In Hyderabad, SKS distributed rice to its members living in Chanda Nagar and Uppal. Over 300 members across 2 branches were given 30 quintals of rice, to help them tide over the disruption created by the torrential rains. In a similar effort, SKS distributed rice to 175 members in Adilabad across 3 branches, whose houses were washed away due to heavy rains. "When the members did not come to the center meetings, we checked their well-being and after witnessing the plight of the members, we decided to distribute rice and provide them a repayment relief for 2 weeks," said Mr M R Rao, COO, SKS Microfinance.
